Welcome to Pilates, in Austin, Texas! Austin Girl Pilates has been offering private Pilates sessions to the men and women of Austin since January 2005. Owner Susan Caldwell has developed an innate ability to read the strengths and weaknesses of her clients' bodies and assess what series of exercises will best benefit each individual. Years of observation and study have made her a true believer in the benefits of Pilates.

Contrology, as Joseph Pilates named it, is the art and science of coordinated Mind-Body, Spirit development through slow, gentle movement under strict control of the will. Pilates is a combination of the essence of Eastern and Western philosophies. It emphasizes strength in movement while maintaining a calm, centered whole – with breath as the essential component. Susan calls it Conscious Movement.
